Michael Jordan Shoes

When they first arrived on the shoe scene, Air Jordan shoes were hugely popular. In fact, so many people wanted these shoes that there were often riots and fighting over them. People would actually come to blows about who would get the most popular shoe on the planet. No doubt, Michael Jordan never anticipated how popular the shoes would become, but each additional version of Jordan’s signature shoe line is as popular as the last.

Michael Jordan signed a deal with Nike in 1984 to endorse a particular brand of Nike basketball shoes – the Air Jordan. Besides Michael Jordan, other athletes to endorse the brand are Carmelo Anthony and Roy Jones, Jr. You might say Air Jordans were the shoes that built Nike, as they had been struggling prior to Jordan signing the shoe deal. However, if it were not for Jordan’s manager, the deal may have never taken place. Jordan himself actually preferred the shoes made by Adidas and Converse.The initial deal for the Air Jordan I shoes was $2.5 million, plus royalties and other benefits, for five years. As the first shoes (with a winged basketball logo and a price tag of $65) rolled off the manufacturing line and into the stores, it was obvious the pairing was ‘gold.’

While the red and black Air Jordans might be popular, they’re seen more than their share of controversies. As if Michael Jordan wanting to opt out wasn’t enough, the very first Air Jordans are also known as the banned versions. We’ve mentioned above that Jordan was fined for wearing these shoes in NBA games. The reason behind this was that they broke the uniform rules for the whole league. While Nike did pay the fines to retain the advertisement, they went a step further in their campaign. Their main aim became marketing the shoes as a sort of forbidden fruit, hence enhancing their appeal.                                                                                                                                   

Matters

Family is one of the most important things in life. It is really important because without it you will be able to do whatever you want and you will become a bad child. Without family you will feel that you do not get enough attention at home and that you are not loved, then you will try to get a lot of attention at school and you will be getting in trouble in your classes.

Family is very important because without it when you do something wrong no one is there to tell you do do the right thing next time. When you get a bad grade and your parents don't care and don't tell you to do better next then you think that it does not matter anymore and you are just going to blow off school. When you and your family do not get along well you don't want to be home so you will only be there to sleep and who knows what you could be doing outside of school and outside of your home. 

Family matters because families are the backbone of our society and provide structure to our lives.They have been there through the tough times and also the good times. Having a family by my side for everything is good for me because it makes me feel better about myself and I never have to feel alone.

"Will Monkeys Take Over the World?"

Chimpanzees could pose stiff competition for humans. Pound for pound they’re much stronger than us puny Homo sapiens, and they’re extremely intelligent too; capable of complex problem solving, innovation and deception. Some of them have even invented the spear and started living in caves. And to make matters worse we're teaching some how to make fire. But could chimps ever make a serious bid for dominance of the earth, planet of the apes style?

I don’t think so, for one simple reason: the ratchet effect. This is a phenomena present throughout human cultures, but conspicuously absent in chimpanzees. It’s a fairly simple principle: somebody invents a tool, behavior or technique and other people copy them. Some of these people may figure out a better way of doing whatever it was that was invented. Maybe they find a way to make a spear deadlier, or require less raw material to create. Then people copy this better version; and it gets improved by others again. Ideas are built upon and improved, “ratcheting” up the overall technology of a group. It’s how we went from the first powered flight to landing on the moon in less than 100 years.

Now chimpanzees are smart and can innovate, as I said in the introduction. I wouldn’t lie to you lovely people after all. And ideas do spread from chimp to chimp. However, they spread in a slightly different way than in humans, and this really hampers their ability to ratchet up technology. Whilst humans tend to learn from another person, either by being taught or imitation, chimps appear to learn from the problem being solved. If you saw someone pick up a rock, rub it between their hands and then use it to crack a nut; you’d probably imitate every step if you also wanted to smash a nut (for revenge, nuts dishonored your family name).

Conversely, chimps see that there is a problem here (nut needs smashing, for honor) and that a rock is involved in it’s solution. Then they’d figure out a way to to smash the nut with a rock. In other words, they other individual is drawing their attention to a problem and it’s solution, which they then independently figure out. They don’t learn directly from the “teacher”. As a result they’d probably miss out any unnecessary steps (rubbing the rock) since they’re coming up with their own solution to the problem, rather than just imitating another.

Researchers have had a lot of fun with this fact, tricking humans into doing all sorts of unnecessary things to solve problems whilst a chimp will cut straight to the heart of the issue and solve it. And then maybe laugh at the silly humans, rubbing rocks for no good reason. Whatever next, dancing to try and cause rain? Although this does mean chimps will be very efficient, it also means that every innovation has to be independently re-invented by every chimp. So if it’s a chimp-genius (those do exist) whose figured out a new way of doing things, it won’t spread. Or if a chimp thinks of an extra step to make a solution more better, other chimps might not realize and copy it. After all, what if rock rubbing turned out to be useful? Maybe it heats up the rock, causing massive damage to those devious nuts!

Sharing Thoughts On Blogging

   When I first started blogging it did not like it at all. I could never think of a lot of words to type to make my three paragraphs. I also couldn't think of good sentences to type and good words to using relating to the topic we were talking about. It was also hard because I had never blogged before we had to do it in this class.
    My definition of blogging is when you get online and you talk about topics and other things you have on your mind and it will be public and anyone can see it. Blogging is good because when you have no one else to vent to you can go on blogger and express and vent all of your true feelings. Blogging is also a great way to release stress.
     Blogging can also be fun when you talk about fun and interesting topics. It is also cool where you can see what other people have to say and what others think about a certain thing. You can also see others interests and learn things about them that you may not have known.

Leadership

  I chose Jayda Cheaves as a leader that I like and look up to. I think she is a good leader because she has her own business, is a young boss, and a millionaire all by the age of 20. Jayda Cheaves also known as Amour Jayda is an entrepreneur and a social and beauty influencer. Jayda was born and raised in Savannah but moved to Atlanta two years ago to build her network and business.
   Jayda is the owner of a successful online company, AmourJayda Hair, where she sells wigs, bundles and hair-related products and accessories. She has inspired many people in Atlanta and other surrounding cities to create their own brand and start their own similar business. Jayda used to resell my clothes on this app called Poshmark. Her clothes just used to sell out within minutes. So, it was, like, instead of selling clothes on Poshmark, She was, like, I could just start my own brand, so she started her own website. Since then, she just had it in me to be my own boss and to be an entrepreneur.
   Staying consistent, focusing on you and only you, not letting hate distract you, and being yourself are tips Jayda give people who try to create the same image as her. There have been multiple times where she wanted to say forget this and shut down everything but she encourages others to not be like her and keep pushing to pursue your dreams.

For those who haven't heard me say it before, I am obsessed with going to Cancun, Mexico. I would love to go there to enjoy the beaches and also engage in some of the activities they have. I would like to go to the underwater museum, swim with the dolphins, visit the ancient ruins, and visit the eco parks and reserves.

I would be very happy to travel to both of these beautiful places. It would be a very fun vacation to just relax your mind and have a good time. If anyone would like to take me herer I would really enjoy it , lol!
